Looking for the best mountain bike trails in Melbourne?

There are a few reputable spots that cater for all levels, from beginners to experts. The following Mountain bike trails in Melbourne offer a good mix of flow, single track and technical challenges to keep everyone happy:

Smiths Gully (Easy)

This is a fantastic place for an easy day out with the family or a group of mates, the trails are well maintained and there are some good flows. There is a decent bike shop and the park is also home to plenty of wildlife.

You Yangs Regional Park (Intermediate)

This has got to be one of the most popular mountain bike parks in Victoria and there is plenty to keep you entertained here. There are two mountain bike areas to choose from, the Kurrajong Plantation Area which has a number of loop tracks through established eucalypt plantations and the Stockyards Area which is more technical and contains flowing single trails and steep technical sections.

Falls Creek Mountain Bike Park (Intermediate)

Located about a 40km drive north east of the city centre, Falls Creek is a great day out for all abilities and is a great place to go with kids and for some big drops. The trails can get quite muddy depending on the weather so it is always a good idea to have a water bottle with you.

Mt Beauty Big Hill Mountain Bike Park (Advanced)

This is my ultimate favourite gorge as it has so many amazing gnarly trails for all abilities. It’s a great place to head in the summer and is the perfect place for a weekend away as there is so much variety to choose from!
